Advice FOR mums, FROM mums.

Our Glow Dreaming community is amazing.

We know how hard being a first-time mum can be, and even mums who have had bubs already - it can be difficult and that’s okay to acknowledge.

We took to our amazing community to ask for their advice.

There are so many books, and so many videos to give you help and advice, but we know that the best kind of support comes from mums who have been in your shoes and can teach you what they’ve learned.

“You are no less of a mum if you ask for help”

The saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ didn’t pop out of nowhere!

Realising in yourself you might need help and asking for it doesn’t make you incapable. You are a fantastic mother and needing help is okay.

“Don’t try to do too much in one day”

This is a big one. Don’t set unachievable goals or expectations for yourself. Take a minute to realise your accomplishments and pat yourself on the back for being a mother and just do what you can. It’s all you can ask of yourself.

We just recently did an article in our community about overcoming the overwhelm (click HERE to read) as well as setting achievable goals (click HERE to read) because we know that life is overwhelming sometimes, then throw being a parent into the mix and it can get a little crazy!

Every step is an achievement, don’t put too much pressure on yourself when your best is good enough.

“This too shall pass”

“It will get better”

“It’s a phase”

These phrases came up several times by so many of our Dreamers.

It’s important to realise that as your baby is growing, they will always be changing. New habits and behaviours will nestle their way into your child’s personality, and some will drift away never to resurface.

In those moments where some of those habit or behaviours have taken hold it can seem like the world is crumbling, but it’s not.

You’re not in this alone, it’s a phase and it will pass, and all will be better.

It can be difficult to see past the hard times but know they will end, and you can do it.

“Keep going and don’t google everything!”

The internet is both a blessing and a curse! With all the information out there it makes sense to take to the web with our questions or worries but sometimes we read it and apply the answers out of context, or it can be completely unrelated.

This is when the next bit of advice comes in…

“Trust your instincts”

No one knows your child like you, so trust yourself and your decisions. You got this, be confident in yourself and the kind of parent that you are.

“You’re doing your best and your baby LOVES you”

And that’s the sum of it. Your baby just loves the daylights out of you. How lucky are we to have a little person to love us so unconditionally?

Being a parent can be tough and can feel lonely but here at Glow Dreaming we wanted to show you all that is simply not true.

If you are ever feeling overwhelmed or worried about anything, we want you to know we are here for you.

We are giving you guys the direct email to one of our Co-Founders, Aloni Benau. He is there to support you and know if you reach out you will be heard with a response and we will do our best to help you in any way we can.

If not, we encourage you to reach out to your medical professional.

You’re not in this alone.
